Employers who fail to take the necessary precautions to prevent workplace accidents in construction sites and cut corners often blame workers for not being careful enough and attribute accidents to workers' negligence.
However, the occurrence of these accidents is often due to their belief that they can make a profit by not making the necessary expenditures for safety measures, such as construction safety nets. Yet, the costs that arise after even the slightest workplace accident are much higher than the expenses saved.
The obligations outlined in Annex-4 of the Occupational Health and Safety Regulation for construction sites are applied when the characteristics of the construction site, the nature of the work, hazards, and working conditions necessitate them.
